People’s Television revamps site, makes official call for interns

Our small, new media production company is looking for a video and/or web design intern.

People’s Television has two feature-length documentary films in post-production, is preparing to go live with vodcasts, and constructing a collaborative internet TV channel.

We are building an aggressively progressive participatory media network, don’t miss your chance to be a part of it!

Video Intern – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Logging and capturing video footage.
-Organizing video libraries and hard drives.
-Editing feature and web documentaries.
-Researching trends in online video and internet TV
Requirements: Strong Proficiency with Final Cut Pro/Studio. Able to work at our office in Upper Manhattan.

Web Design Intern – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Designing Flash Interfaces
-Updating News/blogs
-Integrating streaming/flash video onto site
-Graphic Design
Requirements:: Proficiency with Flash, previous web design experience.

We are looking for an energetic, talented, industrious, creative, politically-minded, socially-conscious, media revolutionary.
Spanish a big plus.

Hours are flexible (but schedule is firm.) Compensation is based on experience.

That We Do This Together is an event consisting of over forty New York area artists who have created work specifically for exhibition in the Red Barn in Ellenville, NY. All of the works are the product of each artist’s individual perspective. The result is a wide variety of mediums and expressions that create a unique and diverse experience for the viewer. The exhibition, opening on October 6th, includes printmaking, painting, video, sculpture, sound design and installation. There will be a reception with the artists on Sunday, October 8th featuring poetry, music, film and spoken word from 4pm through 9pm. The show will remain open through Monday, October 9th (Columbus Day).

The Red Barn is situated on the western corner of Ulster Heights Road and Canal Street in scenic Ellenville, NY. The space has been graciously donated by Irena Elbaum and Richard Parzoch exclusively for the event which was arranged by artist and curator Gregory MacAvoy.
