La Americana Braintrust Meeting this Monday
November 10, 2007 by Dora Leticia
More than 20 key stakeholders and issue experts have RSVP’d for a November 12th ‘braintrust’ at the Migration Policy Institute in Washington DC. The meeting, organized by San Francisco-based nonprofit Active Voice, will consist of a full screening of La Americana and a roundtable discussion about the film’s potential to reach “beyond the choir” and encourage people outside of the immigrants’ rights community to consider immigration policy reform through a new lens. The meeting will inform the development of a nationwide strategy to prompt people across America – from human rights advocates to policymakers to families employing undocumented workers – to reconsider the implications of our immigration ‘crisis’.
In other news, the beta launch of the new La Americana website will begin next week!
Stay tuned,
