People’s TV 2009
December 31, 2008
2008 has been a great year for us at People’s Television. La Americana, our first feature documentary, was completed and shown at more than 20 international film festivals. We won the Best Documentary award from juries at nearly every major Latino film festival in the United States, as well as at several other prestigious festivals across the country. La Americana received rave reviews from critics at The Austin Chronicle, The Lancet Medical Journal, and Filmmaker Magazine, amongst others.
In 2009, we will focus on using La Americana to create social change. We have just received acceptance of two grants that will allow us to kick off a nationwide screening tour with community groups, policy institutions, and college campuses. We will also have some exciting news to announce about the commercial distribution and broadcast of La Americana in the coming year, along with the beginnings of our next project.
Please stay tuned. Thanks as always for your support,
Nicholas Bruckman
