Nicholas Bruckman

Nicholas Bruckman is Director & Producer of La Americana, which has screened at over a dozen international film festivals and recently won the Best Documentary award at the New York Latino Film Festival.  He has worked on independent, corporate, and nonprofit documentary projects in South America, Asia, and the Middle East.  His work has been supported by grants from the New York State Council of the Arts and the Cinereach Foundation.  He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Purchase where he was manger of the college cable TV station, PurchaseTV.  His thesis film, Kashmir: Voices of Occupation, earned him the statewide chancellor’s award.

John Mattiuzzi

Since receiving his BFA at SUNY Purchase, John Mattiuzzi has worked in the arts in NY, Mexico City, and San Francisco. There he worked with BayKids volunteers, producing youth media with hospitalized children. Currently John’s mural “A City of Heroes” is on exhibition in “9/11: A Nation Remembers” in Philadelphia.

Jesse Thomas

Jesse Thomas majored in Economics and Political Science at SUNY Purchase. He composed music for a feature-length film and has traveled extensively, including to Kashmir and Spain, for other documentary projects. Jesse acted as comanager for PurchaseTV and currently works for Seed Magazine developing their on-line video channel.

Justin Thomas

Justin is a twenty-three year old senior at SUNY Purchase College in Westchester, NY. Justin has a keen passion for history, music, and art; he is also a writer of creative stories and poetry. In 2005, Justin produced a three-part documentary on the late John Lennon entitled “Working Class Hero.” In the last two years, Justin has been involved in political activism. In the fall of 2006, he organized a coalition of fellow students from SUNY for a trip to Fort Benning, Georgia to participate in the annual School of Americas protest. (For the last several decades, the school has trained soldiers in the use of terror tactics and torture techniques against civilian populations in Latin America and other countries.) Justin harbors a profound interest in advocating social change by combatting apathy through increased awareness.

David Jaramillo

After emigrating from his native Ecuador, David attended CUNY’s College of Staten Island where he recently received a dual degree in Cinema Studies and Communication. Aside from being an aspiring filmmaker David is a self-trained guitar-player and salsa dancer. David has worked with Staten Island Community Television and is working currently as the translating supervisor for “La Americana” at People’s Television.

Jordan Forkey

Jordan works for Apple teaching people how to use Final Cut Pro. He’s editor and co-producer of the upcoming People’s Television documentary short The Grey Movie.
